My cousin gave a book (The Untethered Soul) to my Aunt Paula (my mom's sister) a year or two ago. Paula said it's one of her all time favorites in note she wrote in a copy she sent to me last year. I got around to reading it and loved it, and recognized my Niece in parts of it. I sent a copy to her. She loved it and plans to share it with somebody else too.
Meanwhile, I took my daughter to my mom's briefly and mentioned that Paula recently got a 2.5yr "all clear" cancer checkup. She and Paula have not talked for some time after a pretty aggressive email from my mom to Paula maybe in which she pretty much cut her out of her life, but she and I connected on our own accord. I also shared having sent the book to my niece and that she was getting some real positive inspiration out of it. My mom was thrilled, having been concerned but unable to influence her.
Today my mom wrote me, saying again how good she felt knowing Marissa was getting some inspiration. And that she'd sent an email to her sister Paula about both her 'clear scan' and the book's influence.
Something about this all feels like good karma.
