I’m Not A Monster

I'm not a monster. I'm not a creep. I'm not a jerk, a bastard, or a selfish prick. I'm a kind loving person who has tried their best to resolve a bad situation to the best of my abilities.

I'm guilty of trying my best to make a difficult situation bearable. To exit a complicated and compromising relationship with grace, integrity, and overwhelming awareness of the pain my actions caused somebody I still care about, even though all evidence indicates they never really cared about me, my well being, my needs, and my intentions.

The Terra Collection (Remastered)

I made a mixtape for an ex-girlfriend many years ago, and I’ve never forgotten it. I made two copies… a master copy for her, and a duplicate of the master copy for me. I’ve saved that duplicate copy since 1990 because it did and still does represent so very much to me, both as a creative effort and a reflection of a time and place long gone.

Point Lobos 7/2/2018

My first visit to Point Lobos was in 2012 and I’ve returned a few times since, each time finding something new and humbling. The natural beauty, as incredible as it is, is dramatically overshadowed by the pure amount of force and time it took for these formations to develop and surface. Its amazing to realize how the layers in these rocks came to be, and came to be visible as they are today. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geological_history_of_Point_Lobos.

Cartel Land

I watched this last night with rapt attention. Quoting the YouTube summary, "The film is a chilling, visceral meditation on the breakdown of order and the blurry line between good and evil." It's a brutal reality to consider, and it will make you appreciate what you have, and re-think what you might believe about people, morality, necessity, intention, deception, and corruption at all levels of government and simple humanity.

Emergent Truths

"Emergent truths arrived at through science are true whether or not you believe in it. And what is important is for people to understand that and move on to political conversations on how to solve our real problems."
