While taking my routine lunchtime walk today, a hawk flew out of a tree branch and landed directly in the bushes not more than 2 feet away from me. I felt the wind from its wings as it crashed headfirst into the ivy. It hesitated for a moment, adjusted its feathers, and flew back to the branch, carrying a small brown twitching figure. In the moments proceeding, it began working on its lunch. I had just been thinking about the complexities of the work day I have had. Talk about your perspective adjustment!
