This is something that one of the characters, Sebastian's replicant 'toy' companions, a 'Kaiser' figure, mutters while goose stepping into the entry way when Sebastian arrives at his home. Sebastian calls out "Whoo Hoo... Home Again" and into the room march the Kaiser and a Teady Bear speaking that line in unison. It's been a phrase that i've uttered myself on numerous occasions, just as often as other oft quoted cinematic quips such as "You talkin' to me?", "Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?" and "220... 221..., whatever it takes".
But I'd never had a point of reference for the "Home Again..." phrase beyond the movie. I never knew where it came from or originated, or that it even existed prior to the making of the film. It has been just a minor verbal blurb that was stuck in my mind and would crop up from time to time. It has been, as Jon Fuelleman would so vividly label it... 'Mental Lint'.
About a year ago, my wife had purchase some books for the kids, one of which contained 'Classic' Mother Goose nursery rhymes. And there it was. The entire phrase and many more, making up what turns out to be a classic nursery rhyme entitled "To Market".
Sure, this might not be news to you, but you must appreciate the surprise, if not the unexpected satisfaction and 'aha!' moment, that comes from sitting to read something to your child, and finding yourself reading words you've been using yourself for decades without ever realizing there was something behind their origin and that they might crop up outside of world in which androids dream of electric sheep.
